The Gabriel Project committee visited Tanzania, Africa, where much was learned and communications between the hospital and the Project were solidified with a "Memorandum of Understanding". This is an official document that will allow dying children to come to the U.S. for life-saving heart surgery until that country can handle the surgery there.

They are on their way to doing just such a thing. A new children's hospital, the only one in the country, is nearing completion and the Gabriel Project committee was able to tour the new facility. "It is going to be beautiful and save so many lives," responded Founder Mark Melamed when asked what he thought of the new hospital.

"It's just awesome, that in a few years, children won't have to come to the U.S. any more from Tanzania and can be treated in their own country," comments National Spokesperson Kamar de los Reyes, ("One Life to Live").

"The labs and lecture hall are going to be fabulous! A great learning institution is being built right here [Tanzania]!" says long-time Gabriel supporter Jackie Zeman ("General Hospital").
